Unemployment benefits and benefits are compatible with the performance of training practices in companies, institutions or entities included in training programs and the performance of external academic practices. The implementation of the practices will determine the inclusion in the Social Security system of the people who carry them out.

These practices can be:

• Carried out by university students and university students, aimed at:
  • obtaining official degree and master’s degrees, doctorates, or
  • Obtaining a degree from the University, whether it is a Master’s Degree in Lifelong Learning, a Specialization Diploma or an Expert Diploma.
• Carried out by students of vocational training, provided that they do not lend themselves in the intensive vocational training regime (it is carried out by alternating the training in the vocational training centre with the productive and paid activity within the framework of a training contract).
• Carried out by students of Higher Artistic Teachings, professional artistic teachings and sports teachings of the educational system.

From the 23 of May 2024 , the economic perceptions that are perceived by the people attending these practices must not be computed as income, whether it is perceived by the beneficiary person, or by any other member of his family unit.

Whether these are paid or unpaid practices, there is an obligation to be registered in the Social Security and assimilated to employed persons, excluding from the protective action the protection for unemployment, as well as the coverage of the Salary Guarantee Fund and for Vocational Training. In the case of unpaid practices, protection for temporary disability arising from common contingencies will also be excluded.
