Can my unemployment benefits be garnished?

Yes, your contributory benefit or unemployment benefit may be seized in application of a court order or administrative resolution and in the amount that the executive title provides.

The amount can not exceed the Minimum Wage (SMI).

If the object of the seizure is the payment of alimony in favor of the sons or daughters, or the payment of compensatory pension in favor of the ex-spouse, the judicial resolution may order that the total amount of the benefit be seized.
